Confused by a Redirect or other HTTP Status Code?

After responding to a customer who had a question about a redirect error, I sat down to write a blog post about the various types of HTTP errors and what they mean from an SEO perspective. Enjoying my first coffee of the day, I clicked through a few online resources I planned to include in this post and fell into that trap of clicking sidebar links that led to some interesting tech articles (totally unrelated to this topic :)). A few cups (and a blueberry muffin) later I realized that there is no point in trying to reinvent the wheel - who better to trust to provide you with what these errors mean from a search perspective than Google themselves! So, I'm happy to share with you Google's Webmaster Tools > HTTP Status Codes which explains how Googlebot crawls and reacts to such codes.
