PPC, or Pay per click, refers to the most popular form of online marketing in which advertisers pay each time a user clicks on their banner or text ad. PPC advertising is a way of increasing the traffic to a website beyond the traffic coming from other sources such as organic, direct, or referral traffic. The most prevalent PPC advertising platforms are on search engines such as Google AdWords and Bing Ads, on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, or content recommendation platforms like Outbrain or Taboola.
