Weekly Average Rank

The Weekly Average Rank provides the average rank for the first 4 weeks of the month based on the selected date range. The weekly breakdown is as follows:
  • Week 1: from 1st - 7th of the selected month
  • Week 2: from 8th - 14th
  • Week 3: from 15th - 21st
  • Week 4: from 22nd - 28th
The last few days of the month are not included in this report. If the date range was selected in the middle of the week, then only that part of the week is included in the average value calculation. For example, if the date range is selected from the 3rd of the month, then the first-week average rank will be calculated from the 3rd-7th of that month.

In case, the keyword didn't rank every day, then the average is calculated only for those days that the keyword ranked. For example, the keyword ranked only one time in position 90 that week then the average result is 90. To include the days that were not ranked into the average calculation use the Average Rank Rules in the Report Options. Scroll to the Report Options section in the documentation to read more.

Employing a Rank Color Scale, the Weekly Average Rank report provides a powerful visual that colorfully displays rank progress from week to week during the selected date range for the tracked keywords and search engines. A Competitive View allows a comparison of a site's rank progress with its competitors. Choose an SEO widget to display in a ribbon at the top of the report for an impressive summary of Keyword Rank Performance.

Average rank rules in Weekly Average Rank Report

Average Rank Rules:

  • Rank Threshold: By default, the threshold is set to be less or equal to 100. Or change the threshold if to the desired lowest rank, which will apply to all the weeks.
  • Rank Value: If Rank is greater than Rank Threshold then Keyword rank value will be calculated as the Rank Value you set. Enter 0 to ignore keywords that are above the threshold when calculating the average.

This section can be used in case there are days in the week when the keyword ranked 100+ and the weekly average should be calculated considering those keyword positions. In this case, set the Rank Value to 100, which will be included in the average calculation. For example, keyword A for week 1 had ranked for Day1 (in position 70) and Day 3 (in position 80) only, then when the Rank Value of the Threshold is set to 100 the average calculation will be as follows: Day1(70)+Day2(100)+Day3(80)+Day4(100)+...Day7(100). The sum is divided by 7 full days, where the avg = 92.86 (approx).
  • Rounded Average Switch the toggle ON to round the average values.
