Marketing Dashboard Examples

Example 1: Marketing Dashboard Customized with HTML & CSS to Match Client Branding
In this example, the HTML and CSS code have been modified to match the client's website design.  The Welcome message is created with a Text Box at 50% size leaving room for the Google Analytics Stacked Columns Widget (that's set to Traffic Key Metric: Sessions and Dimension: Medium / Source) to display beside it.  Multiple Single Metric Widgets were added to provide a colorful visual of average rank vs. competitors and average rank for brand keywords. Additional Text boxes and reports display below the widgets and on the other pages accessed via the top navigation menu of this marketing dashboard.

Example 2: Competitor Marketing Dashboard with Account & Campaign Logos and Style Matching Customer Logo
In this example, both the Account and Campaign Logo are displayed and a custom CSS scheme was created based on the customer's logo color.  The displayed Competitors page contains a text box describing the page content followed by Single Metric Widgets, an Insight Graph, Domain Impact and Competitive Website Rank Distribution reports. The actual live dashboard for this campaign also displays a Rank Tracker Dashboard set for top keywords: local competitor rank comparison and a report of Competitors ranked in the Top 20 organic results.

Example 3: SEO Marketing Dashboard with both Account & Campaign Logos and Style Matching Agency Logo
This screenshot showcases the account logo and campaign logo in a custom CSS scheme that compliments the account logo. This type of style could easily be created once, saved as a template and loaded in other campaign dashboards.

Reports chosen for this SEO page include a Keyword Performance widget, followed by a text box explaining the SERP feature icons that display in the Search Engines report that provides a side-by-side comparison of keyword rank on each search engine tracked, and the average rank monthly snapshot report - both filtered by keyword tags.  There are many more SEO reports and graphs available and you can add them all to Marketing Dashboard pages in any order and combination you prefer.

Example 4: Brand Visibility Marketing Dashboard Matching Client Logo
This screenshot highlights the a custom CSS scheme matching the Campaign logo and fixed period date selection option. A text box that explains the report graphs and metrics is followed by the Brand Visibility report for the website based on tracked keywords organic rank. Viewers can click the Discover screen icon for an interactive experience that displays the actual SERP Snapshot for the day including top 20 organic results, local pack, knowledge graph, AdWords ads, related search and any other Google SERP feature displayed for each keyword.

Mobile Marketing Dashboards

Marketing Dashboards are responsive in design and can be used on mobile devices in addition to desktop.  Our dashboard has been tested on mobile devices using a Chrome browser including 7" tablets (e.g., iPad mini and Nexus 7), and even on cell phones as small as a Galaxy 5 (640 x 360 pixels), and iPhone 5 (568 x 320 pixels), with all functionality working fine (including the single sign-on feature).

You can select one of our templates or build your own utilizing a wide variety of widgets and reports, and HTML and CSS settings.

Dashboard Tools: Set Campaign

Bulk Actions: Set Campaign
Set Campaign is an option that allows you to overwrite the current campaign with a different campaign. This is useful when loading a Dashboard Template or if pages were created using multiple campaigns and you later decide that Dashboard should display only one.

Web Dashboard Bulk Set Campaign

Dashboard Tools: Templates

Load Templates
There are a variety of system templates available in the Dashboard Template Library that you can download and upload into your account. You can also save a template from a Marketing Dashboard you've created in one campaign and load it in a different campaign's dashboard.

Click the Dashboard Templates Load button, locate the template you want to use and click the corresponding Load button.

Important: When the template has loaded you need to click the Bulk Actions Set Campaign button and select the campaign that should be applied globally to reports and graphs that are in the dashboard template. Marketing Dashboards contain reports for multiple campaigns in one dashboard, for example, if a client has separate campaigns for website tracking, app store tracking and YouTube tracking, you can create pages for each campaign inside of one dashboard. After selecting the global campaign, you may change the campaign of specific reports as needed.

Warning! Loading a template will overwrite any pages and settings that currently exist in the Marketing Dashboard of the campaign you're working on.

Save Template
If you create a Marketing Dashboard and want to use the same structure and reports in a different campaign, you can save the framework as a template.

Click the Dashboard Template Save button, enter a Template Name and click Save.
Save Web Dashboard Template

Edit a Template
To make changes to a template that has previously been saved, simply make the changes in the pages (e.g., add or reorder reports and graphs) and save the template using the previously saved template name.

Download a Template
If you create a template, you may choose to download a copy. This can be useful if you have more than one Rank Ranger account and would like to apply the template to other accounts. If you have multiple users working in your account, you may consider downloading and saving the template for upload in case of accidental deletion by another user.

Delete a Template
Click the Dashboard Templates Load button, locate the template you want to delete and click the corresponding Delete button.

Warning! Deleting a Template is irreversible. We recommend that you download and store a copy of the template before deleting it.

Add Pages (tabs)
Reports, Graphs and Text Boxes can be organized on separate pages that display like menu tabs across the top of a Marketing Dashboard.
  1. Click the + button to add a page
  2. Enter a Page Name
  3. Accept the default Page URL or change the name, or if you want the tab to lead the user to webpage outside of the Marketing Dashboard, select External URL and enter the full URL

Duplicate a Dashboard Page

Duplicate Page containing Reports, Graphs and/or Text Boxes
While on the dashboard page that you want to copy, click the Duplicate button and a new page will be created in the last (far right) position. Click the new page's tab and then Page Settings to change the page name. You can also make changes to the report or graph settings on the new page. For example, if you have created a Local SEO report page for your client's Dallas, TX location, you can duplicate that report page for their Houston, TX location and select the Houston keyword tags (or separate campaign) you created for rank tracking reports, and segments in your traffic report settings of the new page.

Add Reports to Dashboard Pages

Reports and Graphs can be added to Marketing Dashboard Pages in the Campaign Settings > Marketing Dashboard screen or directly from individual reporting screens.

Add Report in Campaign Settings > Marketing Dashboard

After adjusting a report's options and confirming the report displays as you want it to in the Marketing Dashboard, you can hover over the gear icon and click Add to Web Dashboard. A selection box displays for you to select the Marketing Dashboard and Page you want the report added to.

IMPORTANT: When adding an Insight Graph or Metric Widgets from the user interface, the data for the specific campaign is locked and cannot be changed in the Marketing Dashboard.  The main benefit of this feature is to allow for one dashboard to contain data from multiple campaigns.  If you wish to create a graph or set of widgets and apply them to multiple dashboards, we recommend creating them in one of the dashboards and saving that dashboard as a template to be applied to the other campaigns.

Add Report directly to web dashboard

When you've clicked the Marketing Dashboard Page name, a success confirmation message displays and contains a link that launches the Marketing Dashboard settings screen where you can make further changes (e.g., add a text box explaining the report, change the report display order or width, etc.)

Link to Internal and External Pages

Clients must log into a dashboard in order to access any of its pages, and the login screen will always open the first page of that Marketing Dashboard.  If you want to change the order of the page display, so that your client sees a different page first, you can drag the page order in the Campaign Settings > Marketing Dashboard screen.

Link to Pages inside the Marketing Dashboard
It is possible to link to a specific page in a Marketing Dashboard from another page in that dashboard provided the client is logged into the dashboard. For example, if you create a Text Box on the first page, you might want to link some of the text to specific pages inside the marketing dashboard.

To create such a link, click on the page that you want to link to and copy the URL. For example, the link for a Brand Visibility page might look like this:

That will take the user directly to the Brand Visibilty page for the month of August 2017. If you want the link to open the report without forcing the date parameter, then you should remove the date parameter:

Create and Link to an Anchor on a Dashboard page
it is possible to add HTML code to a text box for the purpose of creating an anchor on the page. So if, for example, on the Traffic page you want to create a link to a Social Traffic graph half-way down the page:
  • Add a Text Box and drag it above the report you want to create the link for
  • Edit the Text Box, click the Tools > Source code option

  • Enter anchor text code as in this example

add anchor text to web dashboard

  • Click the OK button
  • Click the Save button
  • Obtain the page link and add the #sign followed by the anchor text (e.g., #social) to the end of the URL (replacing "social" with the word you used)
  • Insert the link in a different text box in the marketing dashboard using the content editor tool

Link to External Pages
If you want a page to lead the client to a web page outside of the dashboard, click the Page Settings button (or the + symbol to Add a New Page), select the External URL option and enter the full URL. Click Save.

Rank Ranger Graphs & Widgets
With a Google Analytics integration, the type of data that's in the above Data Studio example (and so much more) is also available in Rank Ranger reports and graphs.  In this example, we've displayed the Sessions source data using the Pie/List Widget (we hid the pie chart, you can also hide the % column and total row, and change the number of rows displayed). Next we added an Insight Graph displaying the Session data trending over 4 months compared to the same time last year. This view is possible by setting both elements to half screen width.

Share Marketing Dashboard Access

Secure Access to Marketing Dashboard
If you want your clients to access the online marketing dashboard you've created in a secure manner with URL and password, then set up the Secure Access option. The Default URL is your account username as a sub-domain of the white label reporting platform followed by a report number. The Custom URL option allows you to define a sub-directory name (e.g., your client's company name, the ID for the customer in your system, etc.).  In the following example, the account username is demo.
  • For Custom URL, enter the name, word or numbers in the sub-directory field
  • Enter a password
  • Click the Save button

share public access to web dashboard
If you build our marketing dashboard into your software and you want the ability to turn access on and off (e.g., customer stops paying for service), the Public Access URL can easily be disabled and enabled (and reset to a different URL) via API. The Public Access URL can be controlled via API if you're building our dashboards into your software or website, refer to White Label Marketing Dashboard Public Access API for additional information.
